New Hand-Dug Wells Bring Clean Water to Sidam Zone
CDA has made a real difference in bringing safe drinking water to communities that need it most. Over 20,000 people now have reliable water thanks to new reservoirs, water points, and extended pipelines. More than 30,000 households gained easier access through 1,000 hand-dug wells. In Sidama Zone, 40 additional wells now provide clean water to over 40,000 people. Beyond building infrastructure, CDA trained communities on well maintenance, hygiene, and sanitation, helping reduce waterborne diseases and ensuring these improvements last, while empowering locals to manage their water resources for the long term.
